Stock Hatch to Clio Cup - 2005
Narconon® UK Race Team: 2006 Season
Last weekend the team went to Brands Hatch to watch the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship). On that same day, there were also other championships supporting the BTCC, one of which was the RENAULT CLIO CUP, which we’ve been looking into for a while as a target for next year.
We’ve been in contact with the championship manager for a while now and telling him about Narconon® and how we want our team in the CLIO CUP. He was the one that gave us 4 FREE VIP tickets for the weekend. While we were there, we talked to some of the teams that are currently running cars in this championship to get an idea of what is expected and also how much it really costs.
At these TOCA (Touring Car) events there are usually between 10,000 and 20,000 spectators. It is also shown LIVE on MOTORS TV (SKY TV) which gets broadcasted to a potential of 45 million viewers world-wide. It is also broadcasted by ITV 1, which has an average of 250,000 viewers per showing!!! Basically, this championship offers HUGE amounts of media coverage!
This will be extremely beneficial for Narconon®, our potential sponsor, and our career.
At the moment we are just getting together company names and numbers, and soon will start making lots of phone calls.
It would be a great help if anybody knows personal contacts to large businesses or companies. These could range from ORANGE to SHELL UK, or even NESTLE. Or even smaller companies.
The FULL cost of the season for 2006 to enter 2 race cars into the RENAULT CLIO CUP will be £190,000. This includes everything from registration fees, to accommodation, to race team jackets and even a professional team of race car engineers.
