“NIKI Lanik kicked of his 2008 season with a podium place at Brands Hatch. The two-time winter series champion finished third in the second of two Clio Cup races at the famous Kent venue. “Ashurst Wood-based Niki Lanik recently broke the record of two Clio Cup winter titles back to back.”

“The 2006 Winter Champion came away with a second and a win at Croft racing circuit, Yorkshire, to retain his title from last year. Going into rounds three and four, Lanik racing for Youth 4 Human Rights with Stancombe Vehicle Engineering team, led the championship by nine points.”

“… coming up to Tower bend at 120mph, Lanik made his move down the inside of Herron, braking as late as he dared.  Lanik owned the overtaking and came out of Tower bend in first place.”

“THREE Sussex racing drivers were crowned champion as the 2007 season came to a glorious end.”

“Two third places may have been enough to give him the series but he won in style at Croft in Yorkshire, finishing second in round three before winning the final race.”

“Lanik, who was racing for Youth 4 Human Rights, said: ‘I had a fantastic start to the final race, made a perfect overtaking manoeuvre, had some fun getting the others into awkward positions and then cruised to the finish line. It was the perfect way to finish off my 2007 season.’ ”
